I’ve grown up going to festivals and my first touch with circus arts was hula hooping. I was mesmerized seeing the way people could move with a simple hoop, so I began my journey. At a festival there was this point where a group of fire dancers with all sorts of toys came out (hula hoops included). It was such an instensly emotional, visual experience. I decided I would take the next step and get my own, it didn’t disappoint with its intensity. Years later my friend invited me to an aerial silks class. Having no idea what to expect, I fell in love that very first class. There’s so much freedom and strength that comes from aerial arts. Four years later and I’ve never been so committed.
